![]() I have been able to communicate with animals my entire life. They are my passion, my confidants and some of my greatest teachers. My earliest memory of communicating was just past the age of two with a wonderful and amazing Russian Wolfhound/Borzoi who lived with friends of my parents. He was the kindest and gentlest soul. On one occasion I was sitting on the floor with my shoelace was untied. He grabbed it and pulled me around the house ever so gently by the loosened laces. I was not frightened nor did he do anything in any way to put me in danger. We just understood one another. The adults were all in shock. So, from then on, every time we visited this became our game. We would have the best time and he never did it with anyone else. He would take me in whatever direction I would suggest to him in my mind. Often he had great ideas of his own and would mentally share them before instituting them. My parents, especially my father, were not the most animal friendly people when I was very young. Over the years they relayed numerous stories that are proof to me I was communicating with animals long before that first memory. Being an only child, adopted at birth and raised in Los Angeles, California, I frequently felt like I didn’t fit in. Thankfully, my mother managed to help my father past his animal fears and concerns making it possible for me to have a dog on my third birthday. He was a beautiful, gentle, loving and protective Shetland Sheepdog. He was sable and white and large for the breed. I immediately named him Lassie (hey, I was three). He was my constant companion and guardian, not only of my person, but of my heart. In grade school I was always the first to volunteer to bring home the class pet over the holidays or summer vacations. So, Lassie and I were always caring for chicks, ducklings, guinea pigs and the like in inter-species harmony. He opened up the world of animals to me and truly initiated the opening of my life’s purpose. I have been blessed to have the soul that was the dog I knew as my Lassie come back to me twice more in my lifetime and each incarnation has brought more joy, more learning, and more Love. I have only once, briefly, been without a companion animal in my life since then; and, even then, a neighbor’s cat adopted me as his second family. Each of the wonderful souls who have chosen to walk with me in this way has blessed me with a profound and full expression and experience. I have been blessed to have a number of them return and continue our journey together in different incarnations—even different species—either to pick up where we left off or to begin anew. This would be a very, very long bio if I were to include all these preciously valued relationships. They all know how much I have cherished our times together and how blessed they have made me. My awareness of other dimensions and metaphysics during my childhood and young adulthood took me beyond my communion with animals. I had numerous instances of communicating with humans, both relatives and friends, who had recently passed; often having a visitation from someone prior to finding out that they had passed. Thus I began exploring spirituality and metaphysics in my teens. Having explored other career paths, including a good number of years in the entertainment industry and a stint in Seattle in the 90s studying beadwork (to expand upon my other secret life as a jewelry artist), the Universe made it abundantly clear that the animals were to guide me and provide for me. As the work grew, early radio appearances and print interviews followed leading me to many wonderful relationships; many of which continue today. Doors opened to still more exploration and deeper kinds of work including various modalities of energy work. I have been so blessed, having had some truly wonderful teachers—both animal and human. My work is ever evolving and often combines animals, their humans and their environments. The work with environments has become it’s own specialization. I’ve recently returned to working with humans as a ThetaHealer®. As well as incorporating ThetaHealing™ into my work with animals, as whatever I do and wherever I roam, I always come home to the animals. Today my companion family and I find ourselves in transition. We recently left our wonderful home in the hills above L. A. and are embarking on a new journey in Santa Fe, New Mexico. We have such gratitude for our time in the magical space that was our home in the canyon and for the little grove of healing and grounded oaks who held us lovingly while we resided there. At the same time we are excited about life in this next part of our journey and the blessings our new home will bring. My current companion family includes Emerson, Kismet, Kaya and Z—a small herd of magical, mystical cats—along with Henry (a Lilac Crowned Amazon Parrot and our rock) and Bodhi (an Australian Labradoodle and the magnificent manifester). This is a time of great change and wonderful new beginnings for us and we are all so grateful and wonderfully expectant. Please, check-in with my blog, Daily Tails, for tips, updates, information, events and news about our journey. Namaste! |
